In order to appreciate these pictures…..one must know a little about this vehicle, “The JUGAAD”. This is lovingly known as the Maruta in Punjab. It’s a home made four wheeler…totally fabricated by your road side mechanic. The driving force is a twelve H.P local Agra Diesel Engine originally made for running generators….. it has no real gear box……just a lever which if you push….the contraption moves .It’s a front wheel drive…by V belts. As per govt. records…the vehicle does not exist. But there are thousands plying the roads between Delhi and Agra and in some other parts of the country. Obviously this “VEHICLE”is not registered with the government. No pollution certificate, even though it runs in the Taj Trapezium. Seat Belts…that’s a laugh. Here are a few shots.
