Shri Kundan Lal ji, an
uneducated self made man born in Colonial India, realized the importance of
education only too well. A philanthropist and a visionary he
realized that the future of India lay in an Educated India. Post
Independence he bought the fort and residence of The Maharaja of
Kotla and established a girl’s school in the Fort and an Inter
College in the residence of the Maharaja by the name of S.R.K. Inter
College. He donated generously towards the causes of the down
trodden and towards the needs of other institutions. The funds for
the Main Auditorium at Mahatma Gandhi Degree College Ferozabad were
made available by him.
Environment- was another of his concerns. He
planted trees extensively and donated generously for the cause. He
planted orchards and developed parks.
To carry on this good work and extend it further in today’s
context….a society ..` WE CARE `was formed by like minded people
who work together for the aims and objectives enunciated later.
India got political freedom from the British in 1947 and
became a republic in 1950. Through our constitution we promised
ourselves that we would secure freedom of thought, expression and
belief as well as from socio economic bondage. However, it is a
matter of common knowledge we Indians do not have true and complete
freedom due to our callous attitude towards our rights and duties.
This has led to a rapid decay of the system and has created
multifarious problems like over population, illiteracy, poverty,
unemployment, bonded/child labour, poor health, discrimination
against women, bad law and order, weak judiciary, corruption, crime,
pollution etc. which are manifestations of the distortions that we
find in our system. It is to fight and correct this system that we
set up an association of concerned people to build our economy and
nation strong.
Pollution is a special matter of concern.
